Sadly, this is a crop sensor lens - and even if it were full frame, it is made for Sony A mount and wouldn't fit on your Sony E mount camera without a [$348 LA-EA adapter] (https://www.amazon.com/Sony-EA4-Mount-Lens-Adapter/dp/B00FSB7432//ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&linkCode=ll1&tag=battleforthew-20).
That said, with a $1500 budget, I recommend the [$1098 24-70 f/4] (https://www.amazon.com/Sony-24-70mm-Vario-Tessar-Interchangeable-Frame/dp/B00FSB79FU//ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&linkCode=ll1&tag=battleforthew-20).
But if you can stretch your budget by $390, you might want to consider an [$1889.12 used Sony FE 28-135mm f/4 power zoom with a 6 month warranty from Sony authorized dealer Roberts Camera] (http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?icep_ff3=2&pub=5575034783&toolid=10001&campid=5337235943&customid=&icep_item=401363341750&ipn=psmain&icep_vectorid=229466&kwid=902099&mtid=824&kw=lg).
Unlike most still camera zooms, this lens is parfocal - so it stays in focus as you change focal lengths.
Here are a few examples shot with the 28-135 PZ and the A7s II:
This amazing lens is a little bulky, but it is built for video and will fit your camera without an adapter.
Hope this is helpful and good luck with finding the right lens for your needs!
Hells yeah. I have the 24 - 70 and 70 - 200 . I just need the 12 - 24 and the holy trinity is completed.
If budget is not an issue, and you intend to use the camera primarily for video, you should consider getting the new [28-135 f4 full frame power zoom] (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00NGTN0Y0/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B00NGTN0Y0&linkCode=as2&tag=battleforthew-20) when it becomes available.
This will be a very nice constant aperture all purpose lens for video shooters.
If you don't want to wait for the December release of the power zoom, you might want to consider a full frame [Sony 24-70 constant f4] (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00FSB79FU/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B00FSB79FU&linkCode=as2&tag=battleforthew-20) to get started. This is a high quality full frame lens and will give you results like these in just about any lighting condition:

If you "don't know much about lenses", you might want to get started with Sony native lenses and not mess around with Sony A mount or Canon EF mount adapters. Once you have some experience shooting with native lenses, you'll feel more comfortable exploring other mount options.

Good luck!
I've got this 24-70mm and like it. Don't know if $800 is in your budget. It's full frame too, not sure if you need that.

Looking for a zoom lens for A7rii. I've narrowed it down to:

or

I haven't been able to find comparison shots, but I know the third one looks nice even zoomed. But I saw the first one I linked described as "telescopic" which I'm sort of looking for. Any recs on these?
