> The lens adapters just don't seem that great
I'm a little confused by this. Metabones EF to MFT adapters will give you more video functionality with your Canon lenses than you currently have with your T2i (e.g., autofocus).
At work, with a $5K to $8K budget, you might want to take a look at the [$5749 4K FS5] (https://www.amazon.com/Sony-PXW-FS5-Camera-System-Sensor/dp/B01BGUOPF8//ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&linkCode=ll1&tag=battleforthew-20) with a [$395 Metabones Smart Adapter IV] (https://www.amazon.com/Metabones-Mark-IV-Smart-Adapter/dp/B01DLFVZPO//ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&linkCode=ll1&tag=battleforthew-20) and a [$999 Ronin M] (https://www.amazon.com/DJI-Ronin-M-Handheld-Gimbal-Stabilizer/dp/B00WSPZL3Q//ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&linkCode=ll1&tag=battleforthew-20).
Here's the FS5 flying on a Ronin M:
Here it is rocking EF lenses at 4K on a Ronin:
At home, if budget permits, I recommend the GH5 and the [$649 Metabones Speed Booster XL] (https://www.amazon.com/Metabones-Booster-Full-Frame-EF-Mount-Thirds-Mount/dp/B011GEMHU4//ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&linkCode=ll1&tag=battleforthew-20) for results like this (examples shot with the GH4, V-LOG, the Speedbooster XL and Canon glass):
With this setup, you can stay in the Canon lens ecosystem and get much better image quality both at work and at home.
Hope this is helpful - and good luck with your upgrade!
