I'm a fan of Spiegelau. A common complaint is that they break too easily, but I wash all my glassware by hand and have never had any issues.
Most glasses suck. These are the ONLY glasses you will need. Basically drink all your beer out of them.

I dunno, those things have future garage sale written all over them to my eye. In addition to the looks, they're not dishwasher safe, making them more of a hassle to use. Their (future) wives will tax them until they get rid of them along with their Bob Marley posters. IMO you'd do better to get them something more traditional and functional that will stand the test of time. Are they into craft beers at all? If so, you might get them tulip glasses, which are the go-to glass of the beer geek. If you only get one specialty beer glass, that's the shape to get to maximize the sensory experience. If you're pounding Keystones, it's not necessary or even desirable I would think, but surprisingly does make a difference when you've got a special beer that you're trying to get the most out of. You could buy a couple four packs of Spiegelaus for about the same price per glass as the ones you've shown, and you'd have two for yourself. You could fill them with something else fun to dress them up a bit for when they open them. Pictures of boobs, some jelly beans, liquor chocolates, you know.
