My mom used to make these on weekend mornings when grapefruits were on sale. She used to sprinkle some ginger, cinnamon, and sugar on top. So good. I eat grapefruits so much I got a super special grapefruit spoon

YES! When I was growing up, my family actually had spoons with little serrations on the edges. Kind of this but maybe a little less pointy at the end. Nothing that would hurt you if you didn't intentionally do it. Made eating kiwis and oranges that much easier!
