There’s a series of books called “The Patter”. Which breaks down a lot of Scottish, Glaswegian patois, maybe a connection there? Glaswegian slang in particular has some great words and phrases from the past which still stick to this day.

It’s been so long since I read it and it was so cheap on Amazon I just ordered a copy. Ha! I remember laughing at this so much when I was younger.
