Oh yeah. Definetly. I've put it off because it was long, but that just leaves all the room for character and plot development. I would argue that it's kings best, and the best book ever. The uncut version is around 1500 pages.

But it's a vast story with a huge world to be explored.

Great addition to any collection.

Just under $10 on amazon of you want to snag if for an avid read in your family for Christmas.

It has awesome illustrations that add to the atmosphere.

Some of my favorites:

• The Myth of Sisyphus for philosophical essays.
  
• The Road and The Stand for dystopian fiction.
  
• American Gods or Neverwhere for fantasy.
  
• Brave New World, The Picture of Dorian Gray or Les Miserables for classics.
  
• Harry Potter is my favorite book of all time. It's pure story that is fun to read, evokes emotion and has great depth.
  
• The Beach is good to begin with, better if you're a traveler or like utopian type fiction. (Think of it as a dirtier, contemporary version of H.G. Wells' The Time Machine.)
  
• The Autobiography of King Henry VIII for historical biographies. Note that this one is fiction, but well researched.
  
• A few final random ones are Flowers for Algernon, Angela's Ashes and Italian Folktales.
