The basic principle of fiber internet is that the ISP runs a strand of cable to your property, usually single mode with a SC UPCAPC connector.

They provide a media converter to give you a gigabit ethernet handoff, usually built into the firewall/wireless access point they give you.

If you want to use your own device you will need one that supports SFP modules and the appropriate module.

Because it's FC-AL, from what I understand, I would need two of each, and plug one into one side, and one into the other and loop it back to the server? Or am I misinterpreting what FC-AL is?
