Haha my pleasure, you do what you have to here. Also running in the Winter is great for your stabilizers and balance so it's as I'd see more rewarding than Summer. As well you can dip into snow and get a great upper thigh workout in a pinch.
One other tip I can vouch for it a weighted vest. I ran with a 40lb vest for a year or so, and because of it I ran a) Slower which helped me maintain balance and consistency, and b) made/makes a 2.4k/5k feel like a full marathon. The first week it'll be weird but you get used to it fast. And damn, when you take it off after a few kilometers you'll feel like Michael Jordan in Space Jam. It'll add a whole new meaning to going fast.
