There are no 3D printed parts in the entire project. The base was built on half of a Vaultz Clipboard Case. The few parts I had to manufacture were simply cut and sanded to shape using a scrap piece of yellow 5mm thick PVC plastic, a 1x4 scrap of wood, a scroll saw, and dremel. The worklog linked above will show you exactly how this was built.

It was done this way because the entire thing was a constant "will it fit?" scenario with the parts. It was all kind of spur of the moment on the design. It was simply quicker and easier to measure and cut a piece to shape, sand it up quickly, then see if it fit. I actually prefer the weight of this thing and the wood piece acting as a spine provides enough rigidity to survive a small drop. I could go back and create 3D printed parts for it, but that seems like a waste of time for me now.
