I'm so very sorry for your loss, losing your soul mate is an agony I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. Right now, try not to worry about the future or dwell on the past and focus on one day at a time, or one hour at a time when you feel yourself crumbling.

It's been almost 2 years since I lost the Love of My Life and I can tell you that the pain will (slowly, very slowly, and spradically) diminish but the memories, longing, and love will remain. Those Stages of Grief are very real but definitely not sequential, and you will bounce between them so don't feel like you're "doing it wrong." If you're not hurting yourself or others then you can grieve however, whenever, and wherever you need it.

A book that helped me find some peace in Andrew's death is Walking in the Garden of Souls, or at least it let me stop dwelling on whether he's okay and start facing how I'm supposed to end up okay. I haven't figured that part out yet, I'm still somewhat bitter at the universe and unsure how or why to proceed, but I'm working on it.
