You're actually paying about $50 for propane starter. The rest of the cost is mainly in the table and cart, which in my opinion is extremely helpful when cooking. Weber Performer Premium
I moved from an all propane grill to this and I could go chimney only for starting if I needed to, but so far this summer I've really appreciated just being able to dump the charcoal in the baskets, turn on the flame and walk away.
