A DIY trick my fx friend uses: Smoke.

What you will need:
(Sorry for links, on mobile)

Smoking wood chips: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B002YOB464/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1395768466&sr=1-1&pi=SY200_QL40

Disclosure: These are an example. I am not sure if these provide the best visual smoke, but I imagine a little research on a forum or two can yield some more info.

Charcoal briquettes: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00ABYBF2W/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?qid=1395768619&sr=8-2&pi=SY200_QL40

Aluminum pans: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000WEMG74/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?qid=1395768667&sr=8-2&pi=SY200_QL40

Bucket of water: cookcountyrecord.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/bucket.jpg

Soak the wood chips in the bucket overnight before the shoot.

Put briquettes in aluminum pans, ignite(if you've never done it before, look it up, it's not just dropping a match), and then just add the wood chips. Boom. Continuous, steady smoke as long as you keep dropping chips every 10 minutes or so.

The trick will be placing the pans in the right places: a few feet out of frame upwind, behind obstacles, or in shallow holes that can be hidden from camera.

Also, don't ignite before placement without some heavy duty gloves.

Porks looks great my man!

How high did your temp reach when you were smoking yours? Also, did you use the water pan and did it even boil up/evaporate/or even needed to refill the pan?

Ive read on a review on amazon that the guy used this Weber pan instead of the one that came with the smoker. I bought it and it fits just perfectly and allows for a little extra water storage/drip area. Best thing is that you can just throw it away when your done.

I was really looking into getting the smaller size which is what you have but i saw an offer on craigslist for a brand new xl size and $80 so i couldnt pass it up. I didnt really need the bigger size but it was a great deal.
