Still working on foundational using the exemplar/ductus I purchased here, with caps based on this book (which I recommend for people who do broad-edged scripts; it's a bit old, but there's a lot of good stuff to at least get started).

I think I have already improved over yesterday's attempt, though I certainly haven't mastered anything. Mini self-critique:

  • Gotta work on letter spacing!!!
  • Still struggling with "k" "d" "b" "g" "l" and "w" and all of the majuscules.
  • Drew the "d" ascender in the wrong direction on the last line ("Salvador") but don't think it's too obvious.
  • Still no idea how to do a question mark in foundational, but this was a better attempt from last time.
  • Also don't know how to do the ampersand but I kind of like what I cobbled together (originally just wrote "et" [sort of] but then decided to add height -- so more of an Et).
  • some of my x-heights are a tad off; should have probably made my guidelines a bit darker.

Y'all are so helpful to me with your critiques and tips. Would love to hear your comments as always. Thank you so much!!!
