I couldn't find one in stores though. Ended up taking home a F-701 which I eventually modded and I absolutely love now.

For Light Carry:

You could get a Zebra F-301 Compact. It is about the same size as the Fisher Space Pen and has a clip that you can deep carry. The only thing is that part of the barrel is plastic, so not sure how it would hold up if you sat on it often. I have two of them and have enjoyed them, but can't speak to the longevity since I do not carry them regularly (mostly stay in car or Maxpedition).

I can't stand the globby ink and wide point of the Fisher space pens, so if I can't carry a pen in a shirt pocket I use a Zebra compact 301 clipped in a pants pocket like a knife. The link is just for information. They are available out there for much less. I just came across a stash in a Meijer store (upper US Midwest) for $4 a two-pack.

Zebra is pretty well renowned for their pens and mechanical pencils. The F701 is probably their best one. Stainless steel, knurled metal grip feels nice, satisfying smooth click. Clip is tight enough to stay clipped in your pocket and probably won't ever break (my biggest problem, pen clips breaking). I use the super bold 1.6mm tip refills. The .7mm tip they come with is just too fine for me, cuts paper.

Not really something marketed as "compact" but its skinny and non-intrusive. Would make a valuable addition to your edc.

Noticed zebra does have a compact version of their f301.

I've had that and the TEC picopen. Both have come off on me and been lost.

I now carry a Zebra F-301 Compact instead.

Idk what refills it takes, but the F-301 Compact is pretty... Compact.
