Hey there,

First, I think it's awesome that you want to do this. Hardest part = done.

Second, to echo troublesome's comment, what's wrong with the back? If there is something wrong, we need to know before designing a program.

Next, are you able to do a fly motion with your arm?

Some stuff I would advise right off the bat is to definitely balance your calorie burning focused workouts with mass building. Maybe 2-3 days a week you do full body workouts, and another 2-3 days you do running/core work.

Buy a weighted vest. It will let you exercise with weight equally distributed over your body. Something like this

Focus on lower body exercises -- they boost your testosterone naturally and work your core too. If you want to gain size and burn calories, this is the best way. I'm brainstorming all exercises that don't require two hands. Normally I stay away from machines, but you need to stabilize the load somehow.

Legs:
-Best
Leg press machine
Hack Squat machine
-Good
Leg extension machine
Leg curl machine

For your upper body...you shouldn't need both hands gripping for this
flys
Machine Pullovers - can your shoulder handle this?

>Also, I'm a bit self conscious about my chest, but I'm afraid to work it out because I can't really do it on my right side, and I'd hate to have a horribly unbalanced chest. Maybe that's getting ahead of myself, I don't know.

Yes, I think you're a bit ahead of yourself. If you start to notice a major imbalance, then you could cut back. However, I think some studies show that working one side can still stimulate some growth on the other side.

I'll get back to you when I think of more things, and contact me if you want some help. I worked in college as a certified trainer at the gym.

How heavy do you need? This one is up to 20 lbs, and is a good shape/size but their are ones goes to up to 100lbs. Basically, get one that is a good size, I dont like the ones that ride high on the shoulder, I liked the weight to be more evenly distributed accross my chest/abs/back.

Obviously, get an adjustable one, and dont get a super cheap one that will rip. A buddy of mine grabbed one of the walmart ones and it ripped the first hike he took it on.

They also make weighted shorts for even further distribution of the weight.
