I just ordered a zyxel nsa320 media server from 1sale.com for $70 (that item will likely reappear again for that price if you're interested in it). It apparently has a nzb download client though I cannot vouch for how good it is. I doubt it could run sickbeard either unless perhaps you get it to run linux which is apparently possible.

Just get a cheap 2 bay diskless NAS and use your own drives.
If you lock yourself into USB you will have to leave a computer running or get a router that has USB that you can mount as a network share.
I have this one NSA320

Here is what I do. I have a NAS (Network Attached Storage) that has 2 Hard Drives setup in a RAID configuration. What this does is Whenever a file is written to 1 hard drive a copy is written to the other. That way if a hard drive fails i just replace the failed hard drive and the good one writes all the file back to the new one (I have not had to do this yet) anyways I setup my NAS with Noip.com which allows me to get a URL and point it to my NAS then whenever my IP address changes the NAS auto updates the URL on the new IP. so when i go to. www.mynas.redirectme.net(not a real location) I hit my login page of my NAS. I can then upload via the web browser if i want. The next thing i did was setup port forwarding on my Router. I forwarded port 21 (which is FTP) to my NAS. then in filezilla(FTP client) i put in my URL and username and password and click connect and presto I have FTP access to my content. The brand of NAS that i use is zyxel. It is cheap and works really well. here is a link to one that i would recommend http://www.amazon.com/NSA320-Performance-Network-Attached-Storage/dp/B004UBU3SY/ref=sr_1_2/188-9115284-4563937?ie=UTF8&qid=1414528954&sr=8-2&keywords=zyxel+nsa221. If you have questions please let me know in a PM. i just did a brief over view.

I don't like any of the suggestions here, buy this NAS and 2 of these drives and put them in RAID1 so you are protected against failure (Just make sure to do a backup, RAID is not a backup)

If you don't mind spending a little bit more, these drives are better quality

When you get more money and want to upgrade, you can buy a 4+ bay NAS and reuse those drives and add more or do whatever you want with them

The Zyxel NAS is cheap and good, with no stupid features that are worthless anyway
