I imagine some people may not know that these exist, or may not know that they are called "donuts."
I bought a couple of these. They fit over an oly bar perfectly.
I love fractional plates. Perfect for bench and OHP. I use these 20oz batting weights from Amazon.
I do 5lbs on everything except OHP and bench, which I do 2.5lbs on. I bought these to use as 1.25 lb weights.
I just ordered a pair of these 20 oz bat weights from Amazon today for $7 each:

I use 20oz bat weights. They were $6.99 when I got them making them the cheapest option at the time.
Trying to find 1.25 lb plates. Has anyone had luck using 20oz bat weights?
Like So?
Not a woman but I have some advice that might help as I also sometimes find that a 5 lb increase is too much for my bench and OHP. Could you try progressing at 2.5 lb increments? My gym has micro-plates which I make use of when I feel like a 5 lb increase would be too much. If your gym doesn't have micro-plates you can get some baseball bat weights. They fit over a barbell and they're a lot cheaper than getting your own plates.

I use these baseball bat weight they fit perfectly on the bar and weight 1.25 pounds each.
They are vital to do the program correctly. I just bought two baseball bat weights like these, they fit perfectly.
There are cheap alternatives to micro plates. I bought a couple 20 ounce bat weights on sale and they fit the bar perfectly. Others use weighted wristbands, lengths of chain, or they'll put a 2.5 lb plate on one side of the bar and swear they don't notice the imbalance.
Bat donuts - 20 oz = 1.75lb
I use a "bat weight" such as this: http://www.amazon.com/DeMarini-Bat-Weight-Red-16-Ounce/dp/B005EZ3ABW/ref=sr_1_2?s=sporting-goods&ie=UTF8&qid=1463515414&sr=1-2&keywords=BAT+WEIGHT
I attached two rare-earth magnets with electrical tape, and voila! You simply slide it up and down the bottom of the tube to adjust balance.
Bat weights are sometimes cheaper. I use these ones, https://www.amazon.ca/Champro-Bat-Weight-Blister-Pack/dp/B008C2B7A0. They fit an Olympic barbell perfectly.
