get that. i destroyed the sole on my tpux and that's basically solved everything.

What everyone else said - there is a difference, but it's a quick adjustment and strictly better, especially if you have faster foot speed.

Absolutely would help. And if you ever try to go back, it'll feel bizarre.

You mentioned dragging your toe - I have the same issue but went straight from universal to interchangeables. If you're willing to make that jump, either Dexter THE 9 or the 3G Tour Ultra's have replaceable toes; you can also use something like this on your interchangeables to provide a wear point. Looks like it's going to be awful and clunky, but it works fine (used it on my TPU-X).

I wore these before I got myself a nice pair. They are made so either a right hander or lefty can use them. I thought they were great for the price.

Seriously, buy your own. You can find them on sale for like $20, and if you go even remotely frequently they'll pay for themselves. Plus they're your shoes, which is so awesome.

They are very similar to the curling ones in function, but they stick on. https://www.amazon.com/Master-Industries-Tru-Slide-Bowling-Shoe/dp/B00FDNBOFO

You can cut your own, my shoes are size 13, so I had to hack this one. With bowling, the slide is everything. I went bowling during the eclipse, but didn't take my equipment. I ended up over 20' down the lane (past the arrows) when I stuck in brand new rental shoes. I just assumed the slid. Scary as fuck.

New bowling shoes don't need the pads always, but if you are heavy footed like me, then eventually they stick to point you need them even if felt is good quality. In tennis I need a new pair of shoes every three weeks if I play every day. It's not just because shock absorption goes, it's because I put a hole in them dragging them.

BSI makes some really good looking bowling shoes that I was looking at. There are also some more flamboyant ones if that's the way you get down.

My main goal was to find a distributor of some sort, but I didn't really know where to start. Thanks for that link though, when I tried just looking up "bowling shoes" on Amazon I only got nice pairs.

I think these are exactly what I'm looking for - https://www.amazon.com/TCR3L-Cobra-Rental-Bowling-LacesBrown/dp/B07QM27NR8/ref=sr_1_11?keywords=rental+bowling+shoes&qid=1562694859&s=gateway&sr=8-11

i picked up brunswick phantoms on sale at amazon for under $100. they have interchangeable soles as well as ventilation holes on the bottom. been using them for 2 weeks and breaking them in nicely with the 8 slide sole and the heel with no grip. definitely a nice pair of shoes with no complaints. for us tts, good slide and ventilation. overall super comfy and sturdy. it came with 3 different slide soles and 3 different heel grips.

I found these, but I don't know if your size is wide.

I also drag my brake toe. This SST8 sole protects the toe of the shoe from wear and is definitely not coming off unless you want it off. http://www.amazon.com/Dexter-Max-Powerstep-Traction-Sole/dp/B009GDHBIQ
Side effect, it looks goofy.

If you drag your non slide foot the toe cap wont last long. These are basically the old Brunswick TPU-X shoe that I have. I almost went through the toe cap in like 2 months. I ruin all my bowling shoes but never anywhere this fast. I now wear the removable dexter toe cap on it since they basically look brand new except the toe guard and they are super comfortable shoes.

I think the 9s have a replaceable toe cap now. Big thing to consider if you burn through shoes because of toe dragging like a lot of us.

KR Strikeforce made the TPU-X for Brunswick and makes the Forces for Hammer. Their version is under $100. https://www.cheapbowlingballs.com/KR-Raptor-Mens-Bowling-Shoes.aspx

I would look at Dexter's, been in the bowling shoe business forever.

This is a very common first shoe here in the states. Affordable, decent slide, and comfortable.

Later if you're looking to up your game with changeable soles, look at Dexter's 9s or the Brunswick tpu x.
