IGR (I like Nylar), an adulticide (I like Pyritherin) and vacuuming will clear fleas in a short amount of time. Treat your animals with a decent flea killer (Frontline Plus), then you need to clear out your house, so vacuum it super well and throw out the bag. Then spray something like this: https://www.amazon.com/ENFORCER-EFT166-Flea-Tick-Spray/dp/B00F54MDSI/ref=sr_1_30?ie=UTF8&qid=1501743184&sr=8-30&keywords=Nylar all over your house. Concentrate on carpets/furniture/ any place stuff may collect. This will almost immediately kill three of the four stages of fleas. From that point it's a matter of re-vacuuming/re-applying for every few days while you break it's lifecycle. You just need to wait out the adults slowly emerge from pupa and kill them. Ideally, you'll use frontline and your animal will act as a flea birth control dispensing machine and anything you miss will just bite your animal and end up being infertile.

I got rid of fleas coming up through my floorboards using mothballs under the house to discourage feral visitors (bonus: silenced the nightly 3 am cat sex concerts) and salting my floors (cover for 24 hours, vacuum). I've also had good results with this product. It's totally natural, so maybe better for sensitive skin. I've used it on cats, floors, and furniture & it visibly kills fleas on contact.
