Small caveat: Suunto Zoop currently has a little problem with their computers. Otherwise: Sure, great beginner computer.

The other ones that are generally thrown around for little money are

Ok...

Do you realized that this is a freediving watch an NOT a dive computer? It's as useful for scuba as a $10 Casio watch.

Have you consider the Oceanic GEO?

That is a proper dive comp.

Take a look at the Mares Puck Pro . I initially bought one and loved it so much I got one for the wife when she got qualified. For being a pretty basic computer it's quite feature rich.

In my opinion the best feature are:

Large face with long strap for dry suit/thick wetsuit

Multi-Gas support

Downloadable logs with separately purchased cable

The one negative was having to purchase the sync cable

Buying new:

Zoop = 200

SPG = 60

Compass = 25

Total = 285

AI comp = 370

I got my SPG second hand for about 30 USD, don't think there's a second hand market for computers or compasses though. Maybe the AI console could be had cheaper second hand. I'd need to refresh myself on what components degrade in what ways.
