Seconded!! It does seem like kind of a waste to buy something you won't wear for very long, but I got a couple pairs of these.
Switching from regular jeans to maternity totally boosted my confidence, helped with lower back pain, and the best part is they really accentuate the circle shape of your baby bump (in regular jeans I was looking like an unbaked Pillsbury roll). Get yourself a nice pair of maternity jeans and you'll feel a lot more confident I promise :)
The trick is to buy normal clothes that are loose enough to cover a bump! Then, that "maternity price markup" doesn't get added. Go into a regular cheap clothing store and hunt down loose sweaters, extra large tops, and all the loose fitting dresses.
The only truly maternity clothing you'll need is leggings/pants/shorts. And you can get high quality cheap ones on amazon. I bought 4 leggings and some jeans and it has been enough. Final tip is to .. do truly buy a few expensive items for maternity clothes. It's very fashionable nowadays to be "chubby" or "thick" nowadays so its realllyyy easy to go shopping at normal stores like Juicy Couture or Abercrombie and find loooseee clothing that is made for thicker girls to hide their big waistline. Its absolutely perfect for pregnancy and makes you feel super pampered/sexy/fancy to shop at stores meant for non-pregnant ladies. Some examples of what I mean: tennis dress velvet hoodie another dress These kinds of things are so perfect for days where you feel down and sad because of hormones, and on top of that feel like a big round walrus. Just put on an expensive dress and suddenly everything gets better and you feel like a fancy shmancy pregnant lady with her life all well-put-together 馃榿馃榿馃槅
OH also H&M has a maternity section now!!! I havent shopped their maternity stuff but they are alwaysss cheap on all their clothes so its a good shopping spot. Also lol they are very smart to add maternity/childrens section to their stores because all the teenagers who shopped at H&M in 2005 are adults with kids, now!
Levi's makes maternity jeans. I have a pair from Amazon. However they only sell them in S, M, L, XL.
As a not tall (I'm 5'5.5"), but long-legged woman (32 in inseam), I've ended up doing skinny ankle jeans for my pregnancy and pairing them with boots or sandals. Or doing boyfriend cut and pairing them with TOMs or sandals.
My absolute favorite pair of maternity jeans are lilac maternity that I ordered off of Amazon. I'm a size 12 pre pregnancy with generously sized hips thighs and booty, and these are the one pair that fit me perfectly and feel like real jeans!
I am on the same boat, sort of. I am frugal but was lucky enough to be able to buy these maternity jeans on amazon and basically always wear them, when I go out :'D as for the rest I got, I was able to get a couple of things at a thrift store and in the clearance section at H&M.
