I've seen a handful of docs with these, would be a solution.

Thank you! It's the Supremery Stetoscope Case.

Here are some ideas, OP.

u/bakingpy · 3 pointsr/olkb

I use this case: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01FFM7LJU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_aBwPzbJAXCDNG

Guess the price dropped since I've gotten it, less than $8 now.

I have this case: co2CREA Hard Carry Travel Case Bag for MDF/ 3M Littmann/Omron Stethoscope, which carries my Let's Split (with acryllic sandwich-style cases) or my Preonic (with its sandwich-style case). Both keebs fit perfectly and have sandwich-style cases with the standoffs around the perimiter of the boards.

Fun Fact: It's great to carry your Atreus in as well.

I'll second or third a pulse oximeter. Maybe get a couple, because they will be lost at some point. Hospitals usually have them as well, but they tend to be bigger and bulkier and don't really fit into pockets nicely. It's nice to have your own (write your name/number on it in permanent marker!). Also a gift card for scrubs is a great idea.

A badge lanyard:https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00UE1QGGC/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

https://www.amazon.com/Lola-Lung-Retractable-Respiratory-Specialist/dp/B00KIOY5EU/ref=sr_1_1?s=office-products&ie=UTF8&qid=1466862284&sr=1-1&keywords=lola+lung

Badge ID pocket reference cards, they have tons of different ones and you can get them either vertical or horizontally: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009BE9BCY/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

https://www.amazon.com/Rapid-ID-Obstructive-Restrictive-Horizontal/dp/B00N33A8P8/ref=sr_1_fkmr1_1_a_it?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1466863446&sr=8-1-fkmr1&keywords=abg+badge+id+card+pocket+reference

Also blank ones (you can use a dry erase marker or ballpoint pen and reuse - might be helpful to jot notes or keep codes for various rooms handy): https://www.amazon.com/Blank-Plastic-Horizontal-Pocket-Reference/dp/B00BNYK05M/ref=sr_1_1_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1466863602&sr=8-1&keywords=blank+badge+id+card+pocket+reference

Or maybe just a pocket guide: https://www.amazon.com/Respiratory-Notes-Therapists-Pocket-Daviss/dp/0803629222/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1466865465&sr=8-4&keywords=respiratory+therapist

A lot of people where I work use these things: https://www.amazon.com/Mitten-Medical-Professional-Stethoscope-Scrub-Lock/dp/B0187VBMY6/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1466863731&sr=8-2&keywords=respiratory+therapist+accessories

If you buy a pricey stethoscope, I would advise you to spend $10-15 extra and have it engraved. Nice things have a way of "disappearing" if misplaced. You can also buy something like this, but keep in mind they are removeable: https://www.amazon.com/Littmann-L2170-Adults-Stethoscope-Black/dp/B000SKF9VW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1466864605&sr=8-1&keywords=stethoscope+name+tag

There are also novelty gifts like:
http://www.visualanatomy.com/shop/default.aspx
https://www.amazon.com/Super-Respiratory-Therapist-Shirt-Large/dp/B01EPEX1X4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1466865465&sr=8-1&keywords=respiratory+therapist
Also novelty coffee cups, pens, markers, lunchboxes, and jewelry.

Also, a student can never have too much practice for the boards, and the earlier you start preparing the better. This is just one of many, many practice guides: https://www.amazon.com/Comprehensive-Respiratory-Therapist-Exam-Review/dp/0323067018/ref=sr_1_49?ie=UTF8&qid=1466865661&sr=8-49&keywords=respiratory+therapist

Other thoughts: maybe a subscription to Audible.com - there are TONS of respiratory books available. They might not have time to read additional books on top of required reading for school, but anyone can listen to an audiobook while driving, running errands.

It doesn't matter so long as you pair it with this

u/BarkWoof · 3 pointsr/EDC

Not bad. A few items from my EDC if you're interested:

My pen light.

My trauma shears.

Edit: a few more.

Hip clip. I've gradually come to prefer wearing my stethoscope this way. And for goodness sake, DON'T leave yours on the rearview mirror of your car. Ever. Repeated heating/cooling caused my Cardio III to crack at the point where it hung from the mirror.

Reflex hammer. Mine isn't as cool as this one...

u/elmurfudd · 3 pointsr/MechanicalKeyboards

i dont know the measurements of the minivan but the planck fits in these and they work great https://www.amazon.com/Khanka-Carrying-Littmann-Stethoscope-Percussion/dp/B01FFM7LJU/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1506381275&sr=8-4&keywords=stethoscope+case cheap AF too and its a hard case so total protection from small drops and scrapes

u/JadedCrimson · 3 pointsr/olkb

Looks like it's the Supremacy stethoscope bag as seen here. Amazon link.

u/deaconblue42 · 2 pointsr/olkb

Stethoscope cases have different widths, the one you linked is one of the smaller ones at 10.8 x 2 x 4.3 inches. This one is 10.6 x 2 x 6.1 inches and others are different dimensions.

This one might be too big for Let’s Split. I do not have one with external screws though, but there are two options that I tried for Planck/Let’s Split:
This one fits Planck like a glove, and that is more loose, Let’s Split fits sideways in it and some room left.

u/deeoh · 2 pointsr/MechanicalKeyboards

Caseling Hard Case for Stethoscope. I can't remember who I heard it from, but it was either in /r/mk or /r/olkb. It's a comically good fit for the Let's Split and I've heard it fits a Planck well, too. My Let's Split is using the design files from github (which I had cut into glass green acrylic on ponoko), so YMMV.

While you're at it, get him a stethoscope tag with his name engraved on it. https://www.amazon.com/Littmann-L2170-Adults-Stethoscope-Black/dp/B000SKF9VW/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1495899808&sr=8-3&keywords=stethoscope+name+tag

Or, depending on where you buy it from, sometimes the stethoscope vendor has the option to engrave his name on the stethoscope itself: http://www.steeles.com/page/engraving

It would make a really great gift even better, because there's nothing worse than losing track of one of your most important pieces of equipment for lack of a good label.

u/unbuttoned · 1 pointr/CorpsmanUp

Don't buy one, you'll be issued one or they will be made available wherever you go. A stethoscope ID tag could potentially come in handy, they do like to wander off...

u/MSkep · 1 pointr/MechanicalKeyboards

I got it from Amazon. Its a co2CREA Storage Orgnizer for a stethoscope https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01EWDP0NC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apap_mmeRMCIT2XXQC

u/zelmon64 · 1 pointr/MechanicalKeyboards

The Caseling Hard Case for Stethoscope was recommended on /r/olkb. I got one and am very pleased with it!

u/Wishiwascro · 1 pointr/ems

i highly recommend it for its price and quality. also do him a favor and get some sort of name tag for it with the money saved. less excuses when it disappears in class or on a truck.
this is the one i have.

So there is a specialized stethoscopes for babies, BUT she does not need it at this point. She needs to get through nursing school first, where she will need a normal stethoscope because she will be dealing mostly with adult patients.
I have this one, it works well. https://www.amazon.com/3M-Littmann-2141-Classic-Stethoscope/dp/B000F4SP1W/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=littmann+stethoscope+ii&qid=1573765596&sr=8-3
If you want to get fancy you can get her Littmann Cardiology IV, but it's not necessary.
I would suggest getting a case for the steth as well. something like this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07J697187?ref_=ams_ad_dp_ttl
As for uniforms, my school required us to get the tops with logos of the school though a specific supplier, while the bottoms could be from anywhere, as long as they were the proper color. Thus you may have to check with the school about the uniform situation, or maybe she already has a packet from the school with the instructions.
