Don't think it's an early release, if anything seems like it's an old discontinued piece. I've found it only on ebay/Amazon and they have limited sizes for both.

Anybody knows the quality of the Champion blank hoodies?

Because I got three Gildan hoodies, and the waistband just sucks to be honest, it would be nice to have an alternative for blank hoodies that isn't John Elliott (can't afford 200 € hoodies).

Haha! If you're looking for really high quality simple hoodies I would get Champion Reverse Weave (the link shows them for $35!) and Independent Trading Co (so many good colors and only $30).

This under armour hoodies repel water pretty well in light to average rainy days. (basically not standing in the rain for 30 minutes). I've had a few for 2 years now and love them. Anytime they get wet I can just brush it off with my hands and it's all good. Even when I get caught in a heavy downpour I can just go inside, shake the hoodie out and it will be wearable again.

I like this one cause it's kinda stylish
