Best no show & liner socks for women according to redditors

Yeah band-aids are my friends for new heels and some flats. It's not a matter of the shoe fitting, it fits fine, it's more the material the shoe is made of sometimes that really rubs my feet raw.

Depending on how much foot is showing on the flats you could also try wearing those footie sock things, I forget what they're called....http://www.amazon.com/HUE-Womens-Hidden-Cotton-Liners/dp/B000S16L3G these things...I wear nude colored ones a lot with some of my flats more because they keep your shoes smelling nicer longer. If I wear them barefoot for too long (in hot Florida) they will start to get stinky.

Edit: Also it does depend on the flats. Those cheap flats from Target can sometimes be brutal. The cheap ones from H&M don't do it though.

What brands did you try? I use these ones from HUE (they come in nude or black) and they work great.

These no show socks with silicone backs from Amazon have been great for me. I wear them with my Cole Haan oxfords.

Would these work? I just got them and they stay put all day.

This is kind of a dumb quesiton but whatever. I have pretty small feet (usually a size 5, but sometimes 4.5, depending on the shoe). I feel like "no show" socks (this style, not the really tiny style) are not no show on me. Like they come up over my ankle bone, instead of being under it like the models in that amazon picture. Does anyone else have the same problem? Do I just need to convert to the really tiny socks if I want "no show"?

I'm also considering knitting all of my socks by hand, because I am an insane person.

I recommend Hue no-show socks, specifically the low-cut ones. They have a grip on the back so they don't fall off and they will keep your shoes from smelling.

My ankle socks are from Gap and I have similarly siliconed no show socks from Amazon. I can’t find anything in the description for socks on Gap right now, but here’s an example of the socks I got from amazon:

When it comes to no-show socks, I prefer the ones made of actual sock material too. Hue makes a version that's mostly cotton with a silicon back so they don't slip away. They don't tear easily and they hold up pretty well over time.

There's a few things we can do with this kinda getup that keeps us looking feminine. First off for tops, the V-neck polo might be a good option for you (layer it over a cami if the v is too revealing). For pants, high-waisted ankle skinny pants are a great option. For shoes, you have tons of options, but I've always been a fan of pennyloafers and no-show socks.

I can't decide if these are silly or cute.

These are pretty great. They're not very thick but I like that. Very breathable and no tab. I wear a size 5.5 or 6 and they fit well with plenty of stretch.

I look for ones like these that are low enough for a smoking slipper/flat and have a silicone piece at the heel. I also don't buy "one size fits all" and look towards ones that are divided into small/large categories. When I leave the house in the morning, they will unclip from my heel once or twice, and then they are good for the rest of the day.

However, the importance of shoes that fit properly is the real point. Do they need softening? Stretching?

I have the same pair. It’s dressier than regular black points. I’ve read some people complain that they hurt the top of their toes. I don’t like to go barefoot in my shoes. I wear Sheec’s no-show socks and have no problems. Sheec’s stay on your feet. They are the best. They’re not as expensive on Amazon.

The site says that you can machine wash with regular detergent - the only limitation is no hot water and air drying only. Hard to compare to leather flats, since I haven't tried wearing those without an invisible sock (like these) in ages. The reason I do that is because otherwise leather flats get stinky on me though :(

I wear tiny socks and put thin $1 shoe inserts into my shoes so I can throw them out and put new ones if they start to get dirty or smelly.

Otherwise I think crew socks sticking out of athletic shoes is kind of trendy now, like dad shoes.

I've just started learning how to balance my statement pieces too, so I totally understand! I also know that feeling with the converse. I wear thesen athletic socks. They're a little thicker, which helps a lot. Your converse will also be easier on the ankle after they're really well broken in, or at least that's what happened with mine. These might help with the Toms as they're pretty thick, but shouldn't be visible. Good luck!
