I think there are several different names for this type of pattern. I've always called them "twister" quilts since you need a Twister Tool to do them. The tool comes in a few different sizes. I have a 10 inch one. These are super easy quilts to do, especially if you use pre-cuts.

Like they said you can buy premade kits, or you could get a cutting mat, a rotary cutter, and some templates like this. that would help cutting go much quicker. You can do multiple layers in one quick motion.

You kind of answered your own question there. I've had cappuccinos (cappuccini?) with either cocoa or cinnamon , chances are you've had both at different times as well. I've heard of people doing them with cinnamon, cocoa, and nutmeg so who knows. As far as what tool it was, was it not just a regular cocoa shaker with something like this?

I was thinking of creating a drum shade but a good portion of the tutorials that I've found online involve an embroidery/quilting hoop. I haven't been able to find a hoop as large as I need it to go around the entire chandelier so I've ruled that option out.

My current idea has been to use template plastic for the structure and then attach fabric to it. I'm not sure about how I'd get it in that really round shape without some sort of hoop. Any suggestions on how to do that or alternatives?

I'm also trying to keep this a reasonable price since I'm only planning on being in this apartment for about another year. Thanks in advance!

I was reading on craftsy that there's a different foot to help with curved quilting, and I wanted the Clamshell to make it easier on myself, I don't do paper piecing and I don't want to mess up my cuts by not having something strong enough to cut up against.

I'm so sorry if this is a stupid question, but...

Did you use a plastic template like this to cut the fabric? And then you put 2" paper templates inside for the sewing part? What about the part of the fabric that folds over the paper hexagons?
