  1. Pick a color or two that you like. This could be bold or subtle. Two different shades of the same color or contrasting colors. (for the sake of this discussion, lets go with blue as a starting point)

  2. Put at least two colorful or patterned pillows on the couch. Examples: 1, 2

  3. Get some plants. Maybe one for the dining table, one for the coffee table, one on the tv stand by the window, and one for the floor in one of the corners by the couch. Possibly use a modern looking plant stand, example: 1

  4. Get some art on the walls. Simple geometric or organic looking prints or maybe a wall hanging. One above the dining table, one above the couch, maybe one on the wall next to the couch that is part of the kitchen. Some examples: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5

  5. Optional, but a nicknack or two could be helpful to make the place look more personal and lived in (but some people like the more clean/minimalist look). Examples: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5

You could also mess around with maybe a side table to the couch with a fancy lamp/fancy floor lamps. You could also exchange the blanket for a chunky knit or fur one for more texture.

There is a entire line of strange octopus furniture. Ads seem to know I like it. Here's a baby candle holder. Or soap dish 🤷

We just bought their gifts!

All of the girls are getting:

  • "Liquid Therapy" wine glasses

  • A bottle of their favorite wine

  • Gift card to their favorite store (Sephora, Kohls, and Macys)

  • Himalayan rock salt candles

    My MOH is also getting:

  • A retroviewer with photos of us as kids and growing up

  • A bouquet charm with both of her parents' photos so they can not only be there "with her" but so she remembers I always remember them too.

  • A donation to Making Strides in her mom's name and a thank-you letter to her mom for raising my cousin, who is essentially a sister to me. MOH has taken her mom's death so hard and I know the thing she wants most is people donating to research and remembering her mom.

We're getting our one female reader this stemless wine glass because she's obsessed with mermaids and the beach. She's also getting a bottle of her favorite wine.

I'm gifting it all to them in monogrammed tote bags.

Amazon 12 pack. The price has gone up more than $20 from when I bought them though. Here’s the link:

I'm sorry, but I've already given them away! The Amazon ones are out of stock (they are still selling a 24-pack for $78 though), but the Hobby Lobby ones are still on sale.

Not rosyncrantz, but this looks fairly doable. (And I'm not the craftiest person.)

I'd go to Joann's or Michael's.

Get some decorative branches and put them into a green foam base that's used for flower arrangements. Get some fake flowers to cover the base, or get some white satin fabric and bunch around it like a Christmas tree.

In your pic, you have crystals dangling from bead strands. Joann's sells both. The strands come in like 6-12 inch lengths, and come in a variety of bead types. And get some cool tear drop crystals. They come with holes. Just get jewelry rings to fasten them to you beade strands.

The tea light holders, I'm not sure if Joann's would have them, but there are some on Amazon. Like this or this. There are now plenty of battery powered tea lights that flicker and look nice. Get a box.

The hardest part is going to be getting the decorative branches. The one in the picture looks like some grayish birch, but they will probably be dark brown in the stores. You could keep that color and drape it with crystals and beads. Or you may want to spray paint them, and I would go with a soft gray instead of a white. You may also be able to find some (relatively) cheap trees on stands as Christmas decorations.

Good luck!

You should only use raw wood. You can always get those airy lantern holders if you want something fancy they work great as orchid pots. Also don't use cedar.

Walmart and other places seem to be sold out. This is similar, but not identical:

This is what it looked like before. She painted the entire thing, and used some of the basing material I have to create the scrub brush around the bottom.

Honestly, she's a much better painter than I am...

u/DiscoRage · 1 pointr/malelivingspace

Seriously? These are tea candles.

I prefer warmers that use candles because you can put them anywhere. I bought this one. The quality's good and the bowl can be taken out for cleaning.

I think I may get this tripod, so I can do more video stuff with my phone. Wholesome video stuff. Comedy stuff. dig the whole deeper, Rosa.

But I'm also eyeing this paired with this so I can start focusing relaxing at home, and maybe it'll convince me to clean my room. MAYBE.

I used candle trees sort of like this as my centerpieces. I spray painted them champagne gold to make them fancy. $40 each is much better than you'll find for floral centerpieces.

I also folded 1000 paper cranes for the favors and decorations, took me about 2 months of leisurely folding. I cut scrapbook paper in to quarters. 3 pads of 120 sheets/$15 ea: $45 for most of my decorations.
