19. HAROLD IMPORT Colour Changing Egg Timer, 1 EA
Sentiment score: 0
Number of reviews: 1
These timers work a bit differently from othersJust place them in the pot with your eggs and check to see when they're reading “done” Voila! Tempered plasticTimers are sold separately, not as a set
A large tackle box works very well, along with baggies for the different pieces/markers of course. I don't remember what model, but this looks right: http://www.amazon.com/Plano-758-005-4-Drawer-Tackle-Box/dp/B000E39T28
Tiles go in the top right, borders (we also have long plastic borders) go in the flat space on top. Cards (separated into appropriate categories) go in the top drawer, pieces in the next two.
If you want to be sure, find your nearest outdoor store (we went to bass pro shops), take all your catan boxes in and sit on the floor putting stuff into different tackle boxes until you find the solution that fits you best.
While the really useful boxes are nice (since someone else mentioned them), I wouldn't recommend them for catan. I do use them for Mage Knight though, but that's a very different set of pieces.
I've gotta say that my fiance' and I recently got The Rivals For Catan, the two player card game built around Catan and we are having a lot of fun with it. It took two playthroughs to get the rules, but now we are expanding to the more advanced parts of the deck and really enjoying it. We were actually able to get a used copy on Amazon for like fifteen bucks so it's not too bad at all. Here's a link to the game on Amazon:
https://www.amazon.com/Mayfair-Games-MFG3131-Rivals-Catan/dp/B00486TI3M/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1479571827&sr=8-1&keywords=rivals+for+catan
Thanks. I bought the tiles,cards, and [pieces](http://mayfairgames.com/goody.php?id=290 / http://mayfairgames.com/goody.php?id=291).
Everything else I bought at the crafts store. I printed the pictures at the local office supply store (Staples, Office Max, etc.) and used Mod Podge to fix them on. It is a craft glue/sealer that worked really well. I made the pictures a bit bigger than the actual hexes and then trimmed the edges. If I was doing it again, I would make them much bigger (keeping the same DPI), and that would make it easier to trim them off. Sometimes, I ended up with tiny edges to trim and the made it difficult. No problem, it was a relatively easy projects, but make sure to tone down the brightness of the board as it can get tiring staring at very colorful bright pictures for a long time.
If you're feeling creative, you can buy these blank tiles from Amazon for about $8: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MTV99HB/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_YrwDDbVQ5MJG7
You could decorate them however you like, and either draw the numbers on or buy sperate blank tokens. As long as you have the pieces + cards, you could easily play a nice game with this.
The whale is a game piece from "Survive." It comes with 4 or 5 whale pieces, and 4 Sea Monster pieces (which is actually why I bought it myself), and a few other cute meeples. I don't regret the purchase, as I love the pieces and enjoy Survive frequently as well.
You'll need the Base Game which allows for 2-4 people to play the game. If you want to play with 5-6, you'll need this expansion.
Beyond that there are many, many expansions such as Seafarers or Cities & Knights. I don't recommend buying any of them until you've played at least 5-10 games of the base version. See if you like the game first.
As for edition, just get 5th, it'll make buying expansions easier in the future.

I think this is the storage box I got a while ago. It fits everything from all expansions (except manuals, but I have those on pdfs on my phone anyway). You just need to remove a few of the bins so the frame pieces fit inside as well.
One of the 18 number markers?
As far as I am aware, the latest version of Catan doesn't have an 18 number marker.
Perhaps you have the 4th edition of the game, Settlers of Catan.
This is the 5th edition (the most recent).
This is the 4th edition
If you have the 4th edition (or earlier) you might be in luck since those sometimes sell for more than the 5th edition.
Edit: here's a link to pictures of some of the different editions: https://boardgamegeek.com/blogpost/6428/bgc-settlers-catan-msia-2011-qualifier-2-otk-chera
You can find the official cards on Amazon. For other pieces (and also cards) I found this website from the UK, but I have not tried them.
BTW, maybe you're better off buying a brand new game, because costs might add up fast.
I use this for Catan and a few other games. I just wish the base were a little bigger so I could fit some game boards inside as well. (I have Agricola, Power Grid and all of Catan except Explorers and Pirates in here (with 5-6 player expansion.)
It's rebranded by Husky and sold at Home Depot.
Yeah, I don't see them in stores. You'll probably have to go online, maybe something like this:
http://www.amazon.com/Ziplock-Type-Clear-Reclosable-Thick/dp/B0002ZOY5A
Although I covet the various plastic and wood Catan boards, I use $6 blue drawer liner which I lay underneath my Catan tiles. It holds the tiles in place, looks ocean-like, and is easy to fold/store.

Yeah, just buy the standard wooden piece set.
I think it's $35
Edit: Here it is on amazon for $28.
Catanimaniacs!
Mille borne is a nostalgia favorite. More of a card game, but count it.
Here's the price history on amazon for it.

It's overkill, but then you'll have the right size tiles if you want to make Volcano, Jungle, other custom tiles.

eh, they make actual, magic-style card sleeves for Catan cards here
You do know these exist, right?
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Egg-Perfect-Colour-Changing-Timer/dp/B0000CFGB5
Get one, they're cheap and tick loudly and end with a loud bell. Set a time limit for all turns.
> Moleskin
Moleskines are a small leather bound notebook many people carry with them. Here is one example.

Where on Earth did you manage to get Fishermen on Catan from? Its now out of print. All I see is it is impossible to buy except at exorbitant prices on Amazon.
