I personally like the "Gear Dashboard" stock included watchface. It allows a lot of customization/information and looks clean (IMO). In my experience, I would recommend against the Watchface repository kind of apps like Watch Maker as I found it to not be stable and impossible to fully remove from the watch without a factory reset.

I have Always On Display (AOD) enabled, wrist gestures disabled and charge my watch each night. I was using AOD disabled and wrist gestures enabled when I got it but found that the wrist gestures would not work/register very frequently which was really frustrating when I had my hands full/wet/dirty and just wanted to see the time.

If you are in a movie theater or want the screen off for any reason then you can set "Do not disturb" to ensure it stays off and does not disturb anyone. Note it will not vibrate though in the mode.

Unless you have a Galaxy S8 which to my knowledge is one of the only widely available phones that allows two Bluetooth connections at the same time, be warned that when you pair the watch via Bluetooth, by default, it will take over as your Bluetooth call audio source. This means if you have a car with hands-free calling, get a call while driving, expect it to go through your cars Bluetooth audio, it won't and will instead (by default) have the call audio go through the watches mic and speaker. Its an easy fix, you can manually disconnect the phone audio from the Bluetooth connection for the watch on your phone.

If you are looking for a nice black stainless steel watchband, I can vouch for the FOURCHEN
Gear S3 Frontier Band on Amazon as a great option. Its the only watch band I have tried for the S3 but in a month of usage, it has not scuffed or scratched or shown any signs of wear. I have had black stainless steel watch bands a number of time in the past for other watches and one thing I have always hated was how quickly and easily they show wear and (so far) am really impressed by this band.

I bought these and they are great. I wanted to use it for a trip to Florida back in June (to protect the screen from sand) and then was going to take it off when I got home. Well it's still on. It looks like new.

Not sure if this would work, but I use these on the front face of my watch and they're great.

Might be worth a try to see if they fit on the back (depends on the size and interference with the HR monitor).

I had one take a direct hit, chipped the protector, saved the screen. Just a potential precaution if it's an everyday risk for you.

I have that one in black for my Frontier and it's terrific. I prefer the band look overall to yours, and has a similar hidden clasp. Just offering this up for others looking for this type of band, definitely not a criticism of your purchase. It's great of you to share your option!

I've been holding off for a sale to come up, and Amazon stepped up! I printed off that page, went to Best Buy and they price matched.

The best part was, that I have been using Samsung Pay for the almost 2 years, and had over 18k points set aside....so I just used them to get Best Buy cards and lower the price even further!

Look for the Omoton brand on Amazon. Comes in a the pack, fits perfectly, and the edges are beveled for a nice look and feel. I couldn't be happier.

There are quite a few metal band options, but be aware that on almost all of them, the finish will wear off. I have one that I like, but I only wear it when I need something a little more formal/less casual for this reason. The fact that all the bands I have use quick release springbars makes going between different bands for different situations easy.

I have small wrists and I got used to the weight pretty quick, as others said get another watch band. I got this one a year ago and wear it daily. It's been in the ocean and pools. It's been on while I've done work on cars or in my shop. It's held up surprisingly well and I still get compliments on it occasionally. It gets scuffed, but you can usually rub it out with the oils in your skin, if not they just disappear after a while anyway. Also because the band is on the thicker side, it helps balance out the look and feel of the watch.

Edit: I can no longer recommend this band. Mine broke today after just a few months of usage. The end of the band ripped apart where the buckle attaches.

It's not shiny, so it has a ruggedness that seems to fit the Frontier, but it still looks really nice. It's my go-to band when I'm not running. I have a black metal one too, but it feels cheap and it's harder to put on since the little pins always fall out.

Standard bands will work fine but there are a ton of decently priced quick release bands on eBay and Amazon. They're really easy to swap out and I wouldn't suggest any bands that aren't quick release.
