I’ve heard both good and bad things about the HydroFlask straw lid. I don’t personally have one, but my friend does and she loves it. There is another water bottle brand that makes a lid that happens to fit a 32oz Hydroflask. It’s not a straw, but it’s still quicker to open than the lid that comes with the flask. I know a lot of people who love it in conjunction with their Hydroflask. I’ve never tried that one either, just so you know. I’ll link it below if you are interested. I’ll let other people leave their thoughts about the straw lid that actually have one.

I recently ordered this lid and it's been working well for me, but it's only been a couple days. I noticed the flow is much better AND holding this is a lot easier than the current Hydro Flask lid. I had many accidents and dropped my flask many times with the other lid because of the weird position the loop hole was. This one is much easier to hold and does keep my drink colder longer. Apparently the Hydro Flask straw lid isn't insulated. They do have a redesign coming, but who knows when? For now, this new lid works and does the job well. If you're looking for a pour spout lid, Takeya lids are popular. I've recently gifted these to some and they seem to prefer this style lid over Hydro Flask's flex cap or straw lids. Hope this helps!

I personally love the sports top since I don't need to have a straw connected to it. But I had a klean kanteen bottle with the sports cap and just use that one. It's great and never leaks on me. Super easy for the gym too

It’s similar but with the bottles I’ve seen the bottom is also a silver metal like how the cap of swell bottles are. Update: I just ordered a cap on amazon that looks just like the handle cap but also has a straw. This seems to be the the best of both worlds and was cheap on amazon!

If you find yourself using it for water only, a quick rinse with a little bit of soap will do the job.
If it ever retains smells which is rare but has happened to me, denture cleaning tablets do the job, fill it with warm water, drop in a tablet and leave it for 15 min, and your bottle will be nice and clean. As for the cap, I normally pop out the seal with a fork or a knife if you are careful, wash both the cap and the seal with warm water and soap and fully dry them before putting the seal back in. If you leave moisture in between the seal and the cap it will grow mold.

Seems like half the people love it, the other half have a lot of issues with drinks pooling in the mouth opening area and then running down the back. Also with the breather hole getting clogged (although I'll admit, this has happened on every single mug I've ever owned - not a big deal to me).

At any rate, I've purchased a S'well commuter flip-top lid. I'll post the results of how well it fits on a wide-mouth.

I got the Sendestar straw lid that someone recommended here a week or so ago. So far it’s been great. I’ve noticed a tiny bit of condensation on top of the lid a couple of times but nothing bad. Suction is great and hasn’t leaked one bit.

I advocate for the 32oz. It's not too too big but you'll rarely run out of water during school with it. I don't like refilling my bottle bc school water fountains are kinda gross so that was a big plus for me personally. However I would recommend getting a boot for it like this (there is an official hydroflask one) bc it helps with the being-super-loud-if-it-falls factor.

The Takeya Spout Lid is a good choice. Completely sealable (no risk of something snagging and opening it in your bag).

I got one of these for my 32oz wide mouth. I clip it on my pack handle

The Hydroflask website suggest you don't use bleach. I use bottle bright when I forget to rinse out my Hydroflask and it works wonders! I put hot water and drop in a table. Depending on how bad the stain or odor is you can leave it for 5min to overnight. It even got rid of milk smell when I lent it to a friend with arroz con leche in it and I think they forgot about it.
