Nice list, but I think there's some other books which I strongly recommend you getting your hands on:

Blue moon: Down among the dead men by Mark Hodkinson - An absolutely excellent account of our season in division 2 from a journalist who was asked to cover City that season. Shows just how messed up the club really was at that point, and if I remember rightly it contains a few interviews from people within the club as well.

Meredith to Mercer and the FA Cup by Eric Clayton - An absolutely surreal book, all about the history of city until the book was published (late 60's I think). This was one my Dad had as a kid and then dug out the loft for me when I was young and simultaneously getting into City and reading. Discusses events that you probably won't have read anywhere else ('recent events' for this book was the 1940's/50's). If I remember rightly the back 20 pages or so are filled with all the data on our seasons and cup runs, as a little kid who for some reason loved stats that was an absolute heaven. An absolute eye-opener into the true history of city.

3 autobiographies which are absolute must owns:

Please May I Have My Football Back: My Life at Manchester City by Eric Alexander - the Alexander family had been involved with City from pretty much the point of its existence until they sold it to Peter (fucking) Swales. An absolutely stellar account of the clubs history.

Maine Man: The Tony Book Story by Tony Book - Tony Book is an absolute legend, signed for us 60's as a (relatively) old footballer and went on to win us the FA cup. Stayed on with the club after retirement and had a couple of spells of managing us (as recently as the early 90's IIRC). Hero

This Simple Game: The Footballing Life of Ken Barnes by the obvious A superb account of what growing up as a footballer in the 40s and 50s was like, as well as a great discussion on our mid 50s triumphs and squad. Ken then went on to be city's scout (I think he was the one that screwed over by the Giggs deal) whilst his son played for City. Yet another fantastic book.

edit: Just seen you have Eric Alexanders book in your list (must have missed it the first time round), but I couldn't recommend the other 4 more than enough. (Also, I'd recommend reading Andy Morrisons autobiography as it's amazing - not so much about City but the guy has had a mental life. Also avoid Colin Bells and Shaun Goaters autobiographies at all costs - they've hardly led the most exciting lives.)

I can't decide what I think about it to be honest. It will obviously benefit the Club long term as the plans for the new Academy are excellent, and we do have some competent guys in the mix there. However, we have some extremely well liked and highly talented people like Cassell and Power who could relate the social heritage of the Club to the kids. Soriano identified in his book that this was a major part of the Barca academy that had to be kept on. With Vieira moving into the top role with the EDS, I'm wondering if they're going to forget all of the "120 years of strive for the people of Manchester" and concentrate on the "5 years of excellence" in imparting this philosophy. City has always been the Club who was incredibly involved in its community, from schools to charities and everything in between. It's why we were founded in the first place and something that successive owners have kept afloat, including Sheikh Mansour. Not imparting all of that hard work onto the new kids would be an opportunity missed in my book and would change the dynamics of the Club.

As far as the transfer race goes, I actually want us to fail to land Cavani, Gomez and the rest. Because with all of the boasting that Soriano and Bergstain have done about landing transfer targets (capitalising on Marwood's failures last year to land RVP, De Rossi and Hazard), I know that soon they'll start panicking and go after somebody game changing like a Messi, Ronaldo, Bale or Rooney and feel pressure to land them. Might work out in the end.

The fee for Fernandinho was was it was really. I do wonder if Marwood's failures and the Barca boastings had something to do with this. Failure to land a player from Shakter for the sake of £5m or so would have looked extremely bad on the new pair looking to impress Sheikh Mansour and Khaldoon as "real football men who can get stuff done". I don't particularly mind the fee as he's potentially here for 5 years and he's supposed to be both talented and determined to play. Also, my season ticket prices aren't paying their wages, their commercial revenues are, so as far as I care they can pay him a billion quid a week.

Definitely Inverting the Pyramid by Jonathan Wilson
It's a bit dry, but it's a great history of the tactics of football, and how they & the game in general spread across the world.

Even though it's about Arsenal, Fever Pitch by Nick Hornsby does a good job describing what it's like to be a fan.

I haven't read this yet, but have heard very good things about Brilliant Orange: The Neurotic Genius of Dutch Soccer by David Winner

Those are the ones that jump to my head immediately.

Pride in Travel

A blue from the Toronto supporting club travelled around the world visiting other supporting clubs and watching matches. It's an easy, quick read, but pretty interesting and will inspire you to want to do some touring around.

Good on you. If you like books I highly recommend http://www.amazon.co.uk/Not-Really-Here-Paul-Lake/dp/0099553252/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1405297228&sr=8-3&keywords=We%27re+not+really+here , and when I say highly I mean it's basically a must for a City supporter. Also http://www.amazon.co.uk/Richer-Than-God-Manchester-Football/dp/0857384880/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1405297624&sr=8-1&keywords=Richer+than+god gives a great fairly in depth history of City whilst also talking about money in football and life as a City supporter.

Check out Teenage Kicks. It's about the City side that won the FA Youth Cup in 1986.

Nah I think you're over simplifying a lot of it. Sure, there's a big part of time spent to getting laid but that's the same over at /r/seduction.

My main reason for delving deeper into TRP was the discussions around masculinity. What is masculinity? What is it to be a man? A lot of boys grow up without a father or a lack of a strong father figure. People like Rollo Tomassi have writen books studying women from a behavioural psychology perspective. I went there looking to understand women with the end goal of

a) getting laid more often

b) understanding women on a carnal level

c) understanding what women genuinely want from a man.

point C is where my interests really lie, because to understand what women really want from a man you need to understand what a man actually is first.

I find a lot of guys these days are feminised and treat women as godlike, when women are just people.

there's a reason why men are committing suicide so much more than women. Why there are so many more women in university than men.

Feminism has poisoned our collective consciousness to make us ashamed of being male.

My success with women hasn't come from treating them like shit, or believing they are worthless but rather because I pulled myself together. I've hit the gym, got a better job, worked on myself and studied what women look for in a man.

I'm also disillusioned by the lack of quality women. In my mind (and I have held this opinion long before I discovered TRP) the more men a woman has slept with, the less she respects herself and the less worth she has to me. I simply don't like it. Of course, I believe people are entitled to do what they wish with their bodies, but don't expect a good man to provide for you when you whored your body out to strangers.

You may still disagree with what I'm saying, and I do agree with you that there are unsavoury aspects of TRP, but I gained a lot of it (especially when I came out of a long term relationship that fell apart because I became a doormat).
