Used Book in Good Condition
I like having a shelf. I look for movies with the highest ratings for video quality, sounds quality, and special features (especially). I like the overall quality of the box itself, it's like a book, there's nothing like reading an actual book, it is a tangible artful item that you buy because you want it, and I want films mostly for the quality of the outer product, and the inner special features, Criterion does this well, but many other are following, though some are quite rife with crap inside.
I click through the pages and wonder "what kind of blu-ray set defines me as a person?"
I WANT MY SHELF TO BE AN EXPRESSION OF MYSELF. Paired sparsely with my Taschen and other film books, I just love owning the film if it's not some standard blu-ray case whose features limit to "theatrical trailer" and a lacking quality transfer without lossless sound. I love having that expression of myself in a way that's not just, the movie.
