Can you elaborate on how Honeycomb is like Windows, in a bad way? Is in the bar at the bottom?
Also, just to let you know, the Xoom ($479, 32 GB wifi), Transformer ($394, 16 GB wifi), Acer Iconia ($355) are all $100+ cheaper than the comparble iPad model. Whether or not any of these tablets are actually better than the iPad is up to the consumer to decide (I personally prefer my Transformer over my old iPad 1, but to each his own).

In a way it is, currently all mainstream 10 inch Android tablets (Xoom, Galaxy 10.1, Transformer, Iconia, Thrive) are Nvidia Tegra 2 chips with 1 Gig of ram and 16-32 gigs of SD space. So in that sense, it's at the top, but it's at the top with a lot of other players. The problem with the Xoom is it doesn't stand out in any category.
Best over all I'd give to the Galaxy 10.1 Tablet because it's thin, light and has a nicer screen. But it's $$$$ and you need to buy special adapters.
For price to functionality I'd give it to the Transformer EEE. It's a mere $399 and you can expand it's memory with SD cards.
The Xoom at $499 really doesn't offer anything. It's about the same weight as the transformer and has similar ports and expandability. So really what does it offer on top of that?
I personally have the Iconia by Acer. While I love my tablet, I would suggest against it. This is because it's a pudgy one. It's the fattest by far of all the tablets. On the other hand, it's selling on Amazon now for $355 and hardware spec wise it's on par with all the other top tier android tablets.

I would stay away from the Toshiba Thrive too, it's also $$$ and doesn't really offer anything.

I have an Iconia A500 in very good condition with case. I bought the tablet when it was new-ish and have been the only owner. It currently has Kitkat 4.4 installed.
Looking for $115 + shipping. Will take pictures/timestamps if interested.
I have one of these its got usb mico and regular hbmi out and all kinds of stuff Acer iconia its been sitting at my house let me know what you think.
Your best bet in this case is to trade in the tablet to Amazon, they will pay for shipping and give you an Amazon gift card to your account.
