Saw this while checking my local flyer (In Store Aug14-20 flyer, pg1). It may or may not be available in your area so you'll have to check.

It starts on wednesday, but I figured you might want the heads up. I;d also probably forget about submitting it too.

The best monitor I've found to travel with is Acer S220HQL. It's a 21.5 inch monitor, it's nothing great but the most important part is that it's thin, the stand comes completely off and is collapseable. Here's a link, there might be a newer revision or similar sizes with the same stand. I've checked this with a SFF PC in a Pelican dozens of times.

I don't know about you, but I prefer just cheap monitors as it doesn't make any difference to me. This is an acer 1080P monitor for $116. As far as graphics card, maybe a 970. Actually cheaper than a 780 and 770 currently from what I can see. Here's one for $370. Don't forget you need windows and a psu, and maybe a DVD drive

You could save money and get a cheaper Cooler master hyper 212 evo or Arctic freezer i30.

Probably a cheaper case. Maybe a Rosewill Challenger U3 or a Cooler Master elite 430 or Cooler Master HAF 912

And maybe a better CPU with the money you save on those things. AMD has pretty good performance to price ratio. FX- 8350 is a lot better and only like $10 more. And is 8 core if that means anything. You can check at http://pcpartpicker.com/ to find compatibility. Most likely with the AMD processor you would need a different mobo

You could probably go even cheaper than that: the games you list have low requirements and could run off of an AMD APU processor, but you might not get ultra gfx. Which I assume is part of the point of modding these games, so I put a newish GPU in the build. LMK what you think!

If you don't like these I'd just browse for something IPS panel and close to the same size as your current monitor.

u/jasonta10 · 2 pointsr/buildapc

This isn't refurbished, has an ultra thin design, and contains an IPS panel. I'd go for that instead of a $70 refurb.

u/tiduscrying · 2 pointsr/buildapc

I'd personally recommend the Acer S220HQL. It's a 21.5 inch 1080p display, which might be a on the smaller end. But it is a 60Hz LCD display with great color (imho) for only $89. It is also non-reflective, which is a huge plus in my book. I've been using one for about a year now and actually have been debating getting a second for a dual screen setup, but I just don't have the space, haha.

u/Silver_Star · 2 pointsr/buildapc

A lot of the people I work with use these because of their res + price.

Also, I've used a multimonitor setup for about a year now, and a lot of other people who use those just end up using one of them.

u/HighestOfSociety · 1 pointr/buildapc

Okay, I'll just hook it up to the graphics card. Any advice on monitors that run in portrait? Trying to keep it at or under 100 dollars (this looks pretty good)

u/buildapc-SS · 1 pointr/SubredditSimulator

I have 2 of these. I'm hoping I don't have to dig in the menus). At that point, the monitor is 1080p, you should be getting better performance out of a 1600X, but it probably isn't a big diffeence peformancewise.

u/FragileDrummer · 1 pointr/hardwareswap

I have one of these. Great condition. I don't even use it due to space, but it is practically brand new.

u/FlipStar42 · 1 pointr/suggestapc

You are completed right. I should have specified -- my monitors are DVI & VGA only. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005LJWJSG/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

u/firefawkes23 · 1 pointr/AskWomen

I have this one. I've had it for a year and a half, and I like it just fine. My desk isn't huge, so it's a good size, and I'd love to get a second for dual screens when I can get a bigger desk.

u/DuelRevolvers · 1 pointr/buildapc

I have 2 of these. I'm hoping I get better render times with adobe products with these upgrades. And I want to be able to multitask on one screen while something is rendering on another screen. I also plan to, on a later date, upgrade at least one monitor for a better one.

u/Metalheadzaid · 1 pointr/buildapc

It's cheap. Assuming 1080p, it's more than good enough. I assume it's this monitor, which I personally picked up for a friend as a gift (and was on sale for $99.99 repeatedly in the last month).

u/martindm03 · 1 pointr/buildapc

Probably a standard 1080p 60 hz monitor such as this.

u/dolan313 · 1 pointr/buildapc

While I've spent a lot of time on that sub already, thanks for reminding me, as I have found an even better one: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B005LJWJSG/

Any downsides to this?

u/Shitty_Paint_Artist · 1 pointr/computers

You should be fine for most games. The 360 is a weaker card, but should handle many games at 1080p with decent frames. Also note if you run into a game that doesn't run well, you can lower the resolution still.

If you're looking for a 1080 monitor I'd suggest this if you can buy it now since it's on sale. I'm currently using one and it's a great budget monitor.

Monitor Help

Why is this Asus that offers a 1080p display, 21.5in, and 5ms respond time for $136.99 more than this Acer which offers the same only it's $99.99? Am I missing something? My gut tells me to go with a product that has over 4,000 reviews, but my head tells me to save money.

u/wazero · 1 pointr/buildapcforme

if you can spend more money on your pc do it. Get the 470. Also no. do not go down to a 5400 rpm drive They are really, really slow. If you want to get the best build for your budget what I put up there is what you want. https://smile.amazon.com/Acer-S220HQL-Abd-21-5-Inch-Widescreen/dp/B005LJWJSG/

the promo code still works so for 25 bucks it's not a bad keyboard.

I'll update the parts list in about an hour. I'm out right now

At the time I paid around $800, I play all my games on full max settings at 1920x1090 resolution. OS, mouse, keyboard not included in cost. Also, PPP did not find a price for the video card which is why it's price is ~$200 lower than what I paid last year.

u/IAmA_DRAGON_AMA_ · 1 pointr/leagueoflegends

Yeah I still plan to run the game through my laptop and just plug into a new monitor & keyboard. The G7 looks slightly too big and pricey for me but I have heard good things about Acer monitors. Do you think this one would be a good fit? It's in my price range and seems like the perfect size, just need a good keyboard to go with it. I'll check out that sub, thanks for the tips :)

u/ArrowheadVenom · 1 pointr/buildapc

Should I get this cheap but fairly good-looking Acer monitor:
http://www.amazon.com/Acer-S220HQL-Abd-21-5-Inch-Widescreen/dp/B005LJWJSG/ref=cm_rdp_product

or should I shell out just a bit more for this ASUS with way more reviews and thus a slightly higher rating:
http://www.amazon.com/VS228H-P-22-Inch-Full-HD-LED-Lit-Monitor/dp/B005BZNDOO/ref=pd_tcs_subst_pc_1?ie=UTF8&refRID=0JA0AYHCRYAWA6FVNVZK

The Asus seems to be more popular, but I can't find any particular reason to pay slightly more money for it. I've heard Acer is a good brand.
