You purchased the wrong accessory. The pins are slightly different on the S3. This is what you need: http://www.amazon.com/Adapter-HDMI-3FHU-Samsung-Galaxy/dp/B0080CXSOU/ref=sr_1_1?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1348770402&sr=1-1&keywords=galaxy+s3+mhl

If you have an older cable (possibly the one you purchased), I believe Samsung made an adapter. Check Samsungs site for that.

Just use this Samsung or any other MHL to HDMI adapter and hook up an HDMI cable from it to your TV.

So, uh.. lets get this straight OP.

You want to currently watch -or- play DirectTV's NFL Sunday Ticket on your S3.

You'd like to use an MHL Adapter and HDMI cable connected to your TV to watch this programming on your TV.
