You could print a holder for a couple of these and suspend them over an enclosed printer.

There's a little wick in the middle of the can. It has a magnet on it so it'll stick to ferrous surfaces and you stick it above your printer. If there's a fire, the flames will light the wick and the can will pop open and dump suppressant powder over it.

It's designed to work with stoves but it does just dandy for a printer enclosure.

Some people use these fire balls however they're not a super wise choice because part of how they work is they rely partially on the kinetic energy of them actually exploding to put out the fire and they throw their powder payload everywhere. The can models just dump straight down and they're more than enough to handle a printer fire.

Get one of these and mount it above your printer.

It's an automatic fire extinguisher and will protect you and your home even when you're not there. Traditional fire extinguishers are great, but only if someone is there to use them.

Basically, it's a ball filled with ABC extinguisher powder. The ball it wrapped with a fuse and something like a firecracker inside. If flames touch the ball, it explodes, spraying the extinguishing powder and stopping the flames.
