For #1 I used switch guards which work out well, one side has a small opening that you can turn it on/off if needed

For #2 you would probably need to rewire it to a separate switch. If messing around with electricity isn't your thing you could probably find a smart lightbulb solution, my porch lights are Phillips hue br30's with the motion detection accessory (it's been about a year no issues, just make sure they don't get wet or are outdoor rated)

thanks for posting this, I have the same issue as OP for #1, and i think this might fix it.

although that one is pricey I will probably find a cheaper one
