I bought a Time Capsule, several iPods and iPads over the years but not a Laptop. Mainly because of two reasons: 1. Keyboard layout and 2. customs in Germany (didn't want to pay any fees so I always tried to split my stuff up between my family).
Maybe they will exchange your EU plug for an US plug. But I don't think they'll just "gift" you the US plug without anything in exchange. If I were you I would just buy a universal EU/US power adapter. You can use these for any electronics device and just for Apple hardware.
