Ok I was in the same situation. Work doesn't care about the beard, but I want to maintain a professional approach to work. So I heeded the advice of /r/beards awhile ago. Here's what I'll recommend:
Step 1 : Oil and/or Leave in conditioner

On the days I shampoo and condition my beard I dont use the leave in. Other days I use the leave in. Oil everyday.

This process leaves my beard straight and soft. I still have to deal with the odd hair sticking out, but it looks more professional.

Like I said, I review products, and link to those products. Like I recently did a laptop, showed how to upgrade the memory and storage on it (smoking deal of a laptop, 14" 1080 ips screen for ~$200, but shitty 32gb emmc storage). not a day doesn't go by I don't "sell" at least one dimm of ram, an SSD and a drive caddy needed for the upgrade. electronics I get 4% of, so its not a ton, but it ends up being about $5/day minimum for those items alone. I also "sell" one - two of those laptops a week, so that's another $8/laptop. a couple of years ago, I did a radio install on my Infiniti G35. Since sold that car, but I "sell" the parts needed to do the work at least once a month, the parts are expensive, so gives me $20-30 in revenue.

I grew a beard this last year, going strong at 4 months now, Looks great, but was a bit scratchy, started using some beard oil really softened it up.
That sort of stuff. I whore out my links like its going out of style. Forums, facebook, reddit, etc. Its all about residual income. the more people who view my videos, the more clicks through to amazon, the more money I make, the more money I make the more stuff I can buy the more I buy, the more I make review videos, etc. I don't have a big channel, just shy of 800 subs, and ~40k view/month.
