This will be my first year too, so maybe this isn't the most helpful. After doing research I got [these](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06Y2GHN9Q/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_v4c5CbBXCVRSA) from the Army Navy surplus to use this year. So far they are super comfortable for me to walk around in, we will see how they really do in the heat. Originally I had bought a pair of Blundstones as suggested on eplaya. The main praise of them was that you don't have to lace them up and they are nicer on your hands. Apparently when your hands get dried out, it becomes painful to lace up boots. I haven't decided if I will really take them though because I ended up loving them over the winter. I might anyways, because I've seen recommendations to make sure you bring multiple pairs of shoes. And also because they just just above the ankle where as the Bates are mid calf so it might be nice to have that choice.
