An eye mask that actually works. I use this one: [1] http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000FFSWAU/ Forget the crap drugstore ones. You need a really thick padding on the "lower" part to get it to stay and block light. So much cheaper/more effective than light blocking curtains. I use mine everyday. It changed my life.
We started out with an uncomfortable leather (minimally) padded blindfold from a sex shop. As we used it more, comfort became the priority. It may not be quite as sexy, but we eventually went with one of these and we've been very happy with it. Like the Liberator one that DL mentions, it has velcro in the back, completely blacks out vision, and has padding so that it does not press on the eyeballs. It is also inexpensive.
