...it won't charge over HDMI unless your TV supports it. So you'll need to plug in a power adapter into the USB port.
I personally use a Chromecast and just screen cast my screen if I need to watch something on my Z3, as I don't like wires.

Hmm, I haven't experienced any issues quite that bad. I'm also on an Asus RT-N66U router, with a rooted TMobile Note 4. GBA/SNES RPGs are running splendidly, though with the aforementioned ~300ms display lag.
