I have this combination and it works extremely quickly. The Astro is really great. Not official Dash charging but very fast in the real world. Ampere reporting 1340mA with screen on. I use this cable:

I've used two, one was a random data cable i got, the other was the cheapest 20cm cable i could find on Amazon. I've paired it with one of these to go into the controller.
The trick i've found is: Wait for RC and drone to sync, plug cable into phone, plug cable into RC, launch app. I've got mine set up so the app launches once it detects the OTG connection.
