Probably a little heavy and oddly shaped for a backpack (haven't tried it) but it makes awesome coffeee. Most percs I saw were 6-10 cups, this one is 14.
Get one of these or a variation thereof. Makes about 9 cups of coffee in maybe 5-10 mins? It's become as important to my setup as my shade tent.
I'm taking my percolator. If you have a gas stove, I recommend it.

I use one on the weekends up north, our cabin is in a constant state of construction, so having something that works on the stove top, the gas grill, camp stove, or fire is pretty important. Takes forever, but totally worth it.
