I recommend the Corsair K65. Having owning a QPAD MK-50 and played around with the Corsair K65, mechanical keyboards are sooo much better than membrane keyboards. You won't notice the difference until you type on one. I recommend the Corsair K65 because it's really easy to clean with no chunky sides and a clean aesthetic. It's most common configuration is with the MX cherry reds which is probably the best for gaming.

It seems to be a cheap Chinese one with some sort of blue mx style switches - the reviews seem to be alright actually, everyone who has had it seems to be happy with it. I wouldn't be able to comment on the build quality but paying a little more would probably get you something with Cherry switches and it would also be a bit more robust. Also if it bothers you people are saying that it comes as a US layout and not UK. If you are willing to stretch a bit this is a nice board, the reviews for it back it up too. Corsair have a rather good rep for mechanical keyboards. It also depends what switches you want, the one I linked comes with Cherry MX Reds which are quite light and don't give a tactile feedback like blues might.

The Corsair K65 is a good option if you want a tenkeyless keyboard, though it doesn't have a backlight. The build quality is phenomenal though. The Quickfire TK is at a near tenkeyless size, and it includes a numpad + arrow keys. The process is a bit tedious but I love this keyboard, not to mention it has a backlight.

If you prefer full sized then this is a good option as well.

Well I currently am using the Razer Blackwidow Ultimate Stealth. It's probably a wee bit more expensive than what you want, but there is the tournament edition which is tenkeyless and is quite a bit cheaper. If you are looking for something with media keys than there is the Corsair k65. But before you delve into this new wonderful world you need to take a look at the different switch types. There is a good buying guide on /r/MechanicalKeyboards. This also a good guide for the different types of switches. Also there is /r/mechmarket if you're okay with buying used keyboards.

Both are crap - you really want a mechanical keyboard for £10 or £20 more.

Examples of good, fairly inexpensive mechanical keyboards:

u/MLCgames · 2 pointsr/pcmasterrace

For that price point you are not going to get a full sized mechanical keyboard. I have found two good keyboards for under £80.

Personally I would recommend the Corsair k60 as i find the cherry MX reds far better to the razer switche, also the K60 has a far better build quality, just by looking at it you can tell it has a aluminum body, but it does come down you your taste and preference.

u/Gojirakrissen · 2 pointsr/pcmasterrace

I found this for £75, but I'm not sure if it's good.

Looking for a wired mechanical keyboard with raised keys like this. Don't really like the look of that one, looking for less than £100.

I know it's a little over your budget but, A mechanical keyboard is worth it.

> I have a budget of 40€ to spend on a good headset

I'm no expert on headsets so I will leave that for someone else to explain. If it's and consolation, I own a pair of Logitech G430's.

> I want to get a mechanical keyboard and I live in Europe.

If you're looking for a baseline mechanical keyboard something like a Corsair K65 would work (this model is missing the numberpad) or a Coolermaster Quickfire. If your wallet is a decent size then I would consider the Corsair K70 (it comes both RGB and non-RGB, depending on your preference).

After you've decided on a model, make sure you've got the right switch for you. I would stick with cherry MX to begin with as they are the easiest to get keycaps for. To determine which switch is right for you, you can either do some googling and guess what would be the closest fit to your personal use-case or you can purchase this handy device to try them yourself.

I myself own a Corsair STRAFE RGB with MX brown switches. It's a good keyboard and has done me justice so far but it isn't for everyone as the key-spacing is very different from, lets say Razor keyboards.

A mechanical keyboard is 100% the way to go if you've got the cash for it, these things aren't cheap.

> What mouse would you recommend getting?

If you're going to be playing games like CSGO and Dota 2 (competitive games essentially) the mouse choice is very important. I myself am a CSGO player and the mouse is the most important peripheral for a good gaming experience, for that reason it's very important to find the one for you.

To start with I would find a mouse that can at the very least switch DPI profiles (the mouse should support Razor synapse, corsair utility engine, Logitech gaming software etc. This will allow you to closely match the DPI of your current mouse as changing from a really low DPI to a really high DPI can make even general PC usage unconformable. I myself use the Logitech G502 and a lot of users on this sub will also say it's one of the best mice they've ever used. I have however also heard a lot of good things about the Corsair M95 which also has the benefit of being an ambidextrous mouse.

I have this cooler, slightly annoying to set up but a good cooler for the price.

Used to have this headset good quality sound and the mic sounds good, simulated 7.1 is good aswell for the price.

WIFI adapter is just a generic one from amazon it's fine for the price really

Keyboard there are some options but for £20 you might not get a great one I would recommend saving and getting a decent mechanical keyboard, it really is worth it. This corsair is a good shout at £65 but it is tenkeyless if that bothers you.

Edit: added wifi card and keyboard bit

Mouse: anything that's light and has a good sensor. I personally prefer Zowie mice. I see Zowie ZA11 and FK1 on Amazon for £50.

Keyboard: you want something with cherry mx red or black.

For example, this is a good deal.

u/Rashkh · 1 pointr/MechanicalKeyboards

You can also purchase the tk new from amazon for 85gbp.

Cherry keyboard with reds for 55gbp.

K65 for 78gbp.

There seem to be plenty of boards under 85gbp.

Edit: Missed the part about blues.

If you are willing to go for Red switches (I have both a Red K65 and a Blue K70, and I love them almost equally) this may be more towards your price range. Cherry MX switches are, for most people, the best around (some prefer Topre and other switches like that, you're definitely not going to find one of those for 70 pounds).

If you'd be willing to go for Red (light, linear switches) and want a fantastic board which is excellently built and uses reliable switches, I'd suggest a K65. There are also QuickFire boards for about the same price range (QuickFire Rapid, QuickFire Stealth, QuickFire-i) but I elected not to go with those boards for a few reasons, mostly because I've heard just about as much negativity about the boards (switch failure, and such) as much as there is positive feedback; and because the K65 has a solid, metal construction, 0 flex, and is a beautiful board in general. The advantage of the QuickFire boards is mostly switch diversity, the fact that some of them come with side-printed keycaps, or backlit keys, and they are a tad bit more portable than the K65.

Choose one of these keyboards:

Corsair K65 fits the bill, it's cheaper here with shipping from Amazon but the listing looks messed up so I would confirm with Amazon first that the listing is real.

u/midjet · 1 pointr/wow

Looks fine, not sure if those prices are any good because I'm used to working in USD/CAD, perhaps it would be worth considering an SSD or a different keyboard.

I'm personally not a fan of the razor mechanical keyboards, mostly because of prior experience with their caps being wobbly and mice sensors dying.

Consider this cheaper, more reliable keyboard: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Corsair-CH-9000040-UK-Vengeance-Performance-Mechanical/dp/B00DOTQ15M/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1407398081&sr=8-1&keywords=mechanical+keyboard

As for a cheap SSD, the 840 evo is one of the standouts of the current SSD rush, I'm a huge fan (even if I don't have one in my current rig) luckily, there seems to be a sale on at the moment on them.
