The leather handled hammers, axes and picks run $30-$40 but look so much nicer than their rubber handled stuff. For the price there isn't actually much point in trying to find a used one. They usually sell for as much used as a brand new one. And the time you spend fixing it up can be considerable.
They even have some neat special editions if you are buying it for a kid.
