Buy some high fidelity earplugs my dude.

Flat attenuation across the sound spectrum reduces the volume without changing the balance of lows, mids and highs. Strongly recommend.

> It's just a couple days after a show type of thing

Seriously if your ears are ringing a few days after shows you need to be wearing hearing protection man. The make re-usable ones that are meant for shows that don't effect sound quality as much as your standard foam ones and are not as obvious if you don't want to be "that guy" that wears ear plugs to concerts... here you go 20 bucks to protect your hearing is well worth it

For ear plugs, I just got a pair of Etymotic low profile plugs and they're fantastic.

If you wanted earbuds then I've got a pair of Shure SE215 on the way, which are basically the same with the triple flange tips but will let me hear directions, to put in my own stocking.

For clothing, jackets and trousers are just a bit too big for santa's wallet so I reckon gloves or good socks and underwear are a reasonable ask. If you wanted to push the boat out a bit, a helmet, or some really fuckin good ass gloves.

I'm looking at Rev'it Taurus GTX as my winter hand sheaths of choice, but I would also like to be able to buy a decent-sized turkey for Xmas dinner instead of a robin.

Other accessories people (or you) may appreciate: bungee nets, paddock stands, ACF-50 (though seeing the forecast for this weekend perhaps Xmas is a bit late to save your metalwork), any good quality buff/snood from a ski/outdoor shop with a design you like on it, hi-viz or waterproof outers.

Nope, just these.

Well I bought that low-profile model recently and haven't used them yet, but I had a similar model for years until I left them somewhere by accident

Very late but please don't listen to this advice, I've had tinnitus since I was about 16 and it's really not worth it.

If you're really desperate to experience Swans in their true form, take your earplugs out for just one song - I did it for Screenshot. Otherwise just buy some normal earplugs, if you're willing to drop like £20 you can get some ones that don't impact sound quality much at all. I've got these ones and they're pretty good https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00RM6Q5HM/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I went to a show once without plugs and did not enjoy the experience at all from the aftermath. Lots of people use plugs and if you forget, most venues sell plugs with the merch too. I had a hearing test last year since I was exploring getting custom plugs, and I have 0 hearing damage, so the plugs are worth the money.

I've been using these of years. I replace them maybe once a year, even with wiping and cleaning they just wear out or feel weird for me after so many shows.

EDIT: words

I would go for the ER20XS.

they are more expensive but have a much lower profile.

I have these small, clear and most important to me, they come with a cord that you can remove (which I do for clubs) or keep on (useful for festivals).

Etymotic ER20xs are the new plugs they just came out with. I lost my ETY's and now use these. They are truly amazing and even more low profile. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00RM6Q5HM?pc_redir=T1
