Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway by Susan Jeffers
I liked it.
Thanks for sharing your story. It is very painful to be rejected by someone, but sometimes this is also about them. As the Buddhist's say, "when the student is ready the teacher appears." This is also true of relationships..
But to your question. The first time I went to therapy I first canceled 3 appts. When I finally did go in I left feeling like a massive weight has just been lifted off my chest. Therapy should make you feel supported, encouraged, and understood. There may be times your therapist confronts you about something, but if he or she is good, they will know not to do this in the first session. I absolutely loved the process and had a lot of success as a writer after gaining more confidence in therapy. Check this book out, it might help you..
