WD40 IS NOT A GREASE DAWG WD40 IS NOT A GREASE DAWG WD40 IS NOT A GREASE DAWG WD40 IS NOT A GREASE DAWG WD40 IS NOT A GREASE DAWG WD40 IS NOT A GREASE DAWG WD40 IS NOT A GREASE DAWG WD40 IS NOT A GREASE DAWG WD40 IS NOT A GREASE DAWG WD40 IS NOT A GREASE DAWG WD40 IS NOT A GREASE DAWG WD40 IS NOT A GREASE DAWG, seriously though, so many people fuck their shit up thinking that wd40 or similar products is going to fix shit like this. use a biodegradable cleanser (i.e. dawn dish soap, and water) get a toofbrush, and a bunch of paper towels and rag, start washing it down and scrubbing it until you got most of it off, clean the cog and chainring the same way, then dry it off thoroughly, and then use a chain lubricant. don't fucking use wd-40 to lube your chain, it doesn't lube, you can use it to clean if you want, but i still wouldn't do it.

Dry teflon bike chain lube can really smooth out a trigger. Makes cleaning easier too but I still use 3 in 1 oil on the major moving parts.
