For me: both times it embedded, once the pain started it just didn't stop and was way too intense... It also made using the restroom hell since my bowel movement would start hurting 6-8 hours before needing to use the restroom and any stomach muscle clenching would send intense stabbing pain throughout the pelvic region. I started eating a lot less food and almost no fruit/veg because it would make the 6-8 hours much worse.

Clay soil is a wideapread problem here. You can improve it considerably by adding compost on top of it. You don't have to work it into the soil, though when you dig a planting hole, you should add some then.

While you can buy garden compost by the bag, if you're starting out, it's more cost-effective to have a load delivered to your driveway.
