So, you know, this is a day by day thing.

On my worst days, it goes a little something like this:

Shampoo with a no/low sulfate shampoo. Condition with Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Conditioner. Dry with a not-so-rough towel or a nice t-shirt.
Comb hair. Apply It's a 10 Miracle Leave-In Product. Comb that through. From there, work in some Nexxus Humectress. Comb that through. Do another scrunch dry with a towel or t-shirt. After that, work in some Garnier Fructis and shape the curls. And if it's a really humid day and I think my ends may feel dry or crunchy to the touch, I put a tiny bit of Fructis Moroccan Sleek on the ends. Air dry whenever possible.

In low humidity, and better hair days, it goes like this:

Shampoo with a no/low sulfate shampoo, or possibly a Co-Wash. Condition with Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Conditioner. Spritz a bit with It's a 10. Apply Fructis Sleek and Shine. Shape curls and/or use diffuser.

I agree, braids. I did mine differently though.

I split my hair ear to ear horizontally, and braid first that top half to one side, then the bottom side (not french, just a nice tight braid). This lets the mask strap fall between the 2 braids.

For live-aboards, I would do a fresh water rinse toward the end of the day, and I'd stroke a little bit of a silicon/olive-oil hair conditioner like this one https://www.amazon.com/Garnier-Moroccan-Treatment-Frizzy-Unmanageable/dp/B008DF6XB4.

If I was doing a night dive or a dawn dive, I'd leave my hair in the braids, if not I'd take it down after it was mostly dry, and re-braid it before bed with a bit more syrum. I typically only washed my long hair 1 or 2x a week anyway, on a live-aboard I only washed it near the last day.

I also added a latex swim cap after a year or so and that added another layer of easy on/easy off, but it also meant I had a bright blue head in every picture.
